The Africa Fellowship The Africa Fellowship:
Creating Advocates for Africa Amongst America's Next Generation of Leaders

This is the time for bold measures. This is the country, and you are the generation.” --Bono

Martin Luther King, Jr., told us, "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'"

If we truly believe this message, that all men and women are created equal, then that means that our African brothers and sisters' lives are equally valuable as those of Americans. And if we truly believe that, we must do more to help Africa, for:

  • 5800 Africans are killed by AIDS every day -- far worse than 9/11, every day of the year
  • 300,000 Africans die every month from poverty and disease -- equivalent to more than 100 attacks every month. (Source: DATA.org.)
And yet... Africa remains off the radar screen for so many of us in America. We seek to change that with the Africa Fellowship.

Our participants will meet AIDS orphans
like this little girl, putting a face and a name
on the statistic that there are 12.3 million AIDS orphans in Africa.

The Program

In short, this program will to form a new generation of Americans committed to the continent's future: the next generation of political leaders who will influence levels of American aid to Africa, and the next generation of business leaders who might not otherwise consider investing in Africa.

The continent of Africa is a study in contrasts: while poverty and AIDS cause enormous human suffering, one also finds thriving business districts in cities like Cape Town, South Africa. Indeed, several years ago, Conde Nast Traveler's choice for the world's top hotel was located in South Africa: the Cape Grace Hotel.

Africa is a continent of challenges and opportunities, and both will be introduced to our participants, first hand.
